While research would suggest that the sur-name "IRISH" indicates a lineage that we could trace back to Ireland, it looks like in our family's case, that isn't the fact. A great place to start learning about the IRISH family is looking at JOHN IRISH (b.1600) who is considered to be the founder of the IRISH family in the United States.
