Dr. Thomas MEACHAM born in 1771 would become known for his skill in the use of herbs and his stance against the use of "drawing blood" to cure sickness, which was standard practice at the time. He was a very successful trapper in the Adirondack Mountains and was the namesake of Lake Meacham. To learn more about him, visit his family's page by clicking HERE.
